Access your GP Records with the NHS App

As your GP practice, we are now providing you with access to your full medical record via the NHS app (and NHS website) if you have a suitable NHS login. This is a contractual requirement for Binfield Surgery.

This means that you will have access to new information added to your GP record, going forward (“prospective records access”). It does not automatically provide you with any historic (past) information, present in your record, prior to 4th October 2023.

We are aware that not everyone will want access to GP record in this way, and at this time, and some patients may have concerns about their personal medical records being made available on their smartphones or online, especially if other people have access to their devices or logins.

If you would like us to switch off prospective records access for the time being, then please do contact the surgery and we will disable it.

It will not disable any of the other features of the NHS App, such as medication requests or online appointment booking etc.

You can change your mind at any time by contacting the practice.
